Best Base For Playset

St Gregory Nazianzen, then the sky opened

Comment by Saint Gregory Nazianzen (330-390), bishop and doctor of the Church, in Daniel Bourguet, The Gospel meditated by the Fathers, Matthew, Watch and pray, ed. Olivetan, 2007, 23-24.

"Then the heavens opened"

Christ is illuminated by baptism, resplendent with him, he is immersed in water, go down with him to go back with him!

John is baptizing and Jesus approaches: perhaps one that will sanctify the baptized? Certainly bury whole the old Adam in the bottom! But before that, and for that, it sanctifies the Jordan. And as it is spirit and flesh, he wants to initiate the water and the Spirit ...

Here Jesus goes out of the water: it carries the world. With him, it does.

He sees the heavens open up and tear "(Mk 1:10), while Adam had closed for him and his progeny, when he was expelled from paradise defended the flaming sword.
Then the Spirit confirms his divinity, for he ran into him who is of the same nature. A voice comes down from heaven, to bear witness to that who came, and, under the guise of a dove, it honors the body as God, showing himself in a bodily appearance, deified as the body. Thus, many centuries ago, a dove came the good news of the end of the Flood (Genesis 8:11).
For us, today honoring Christ's baptism and celebrate this holiday so perfect.
Be purified, and purify yourselves again! For nothing gives as much joy to God that the recovery and salvation of man: that's what all this talk and tends all this mystery.

Be "as sources light in the world "(Philippians 2:15), a vital force for other men! Like lights perfect assisting the great Light, be initiated into the life of light that is in heaven! Be enlightened with more clarity and brightness by the Holy Trinity ...
